When can I apply for the scholarship? The application process opens in June and closes September 1. Must a student be accepted into a college or university before they can apply for the scholarship program? Yes, a student must be accepted into a four year accredited college or university with a concentration in technology before applying for the scholarship program. Is there a state residency requirement that must be met to apply for the scholarship program? Yes, students and parents must have been a State of Tennessee resident for a minimum of 1 year. Since the scholarship program is for underprivileged students, is there an income requirement? Yes, a scholarship applicant parent/guardian annual adjusted gross income must not exceed $36,000. What will be the total amount of the scholarship awarded? Each specialized scholarship recipient will receive a total of $8000 for their entire 4 year academic program. What is the minimum ACT/SAT score an applicant must have to apply for the scholarship program? Applicants must have a minimum 21 ACT or 980 SAT. When will scholarship recipients receive their scholarship funds? Students awarded a specialized scholarship within the program will receive $2000 at the beginning of each academic year not to exceed $8000 total for the academic program. Is there a requirement that must be met to receive the annual scholarship award of $2000? Yes, the student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
